You Have All The Wisdom And Understanding

8 He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding.
Ephesians 1:8 (NLT)

The Lord has led me to this topic today. Wisdom and understanding are necessary for us to live godly and prosperous lives. How do we get them? The answer is in the above verse. We have them the moment we were sealed with the Holy Spirit. The moment we choose to believe and receive the salvation from Jesus, God had sealed us with the Holy Spirit as a deposit to guarantee his faithfulness.

14 The Spirit is God’s guarantee that he will give us the inheritance he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. He did this so we would praise and glorify him.
Ephesians 1:14 (NLT)

This simply means that if a Christian is to be condemned to hell, the Holy Spirit will have to with him. The hell will become the dwelling place for the Holy Spirit. This is the assurance for us that as Christian, our place in heaven is guaranteed. Our God has made a lot of effort to create this guarantee. So, we must never allow ourselves to be blackmailed by theologians or religious pastors who tell us that if we do not do the things they prescribed we will go to hell. Hell is not for Christians. It is a place prepared for the theologians.

The above guarantee is not limited to our place in heaven alone. It also covers our prosperity on earth. Through the Holy Spirit, God has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding. I would like you to focus on the word “all”. The wisdom and understanding from God covers all areas. What do you want? God has given you the wisdom and understanding for it.

Here is an example of myself. As for me, I want the following:
1. Good health and protection from all harms for my entire fanily.
2. Lots of money (billions of dollars in today’s value) flowing into my bank account every day.
3. Tell the world the true Gospel of Jesus Christ.
4. Put an end to involuntary poverty.
5. Build space ships and space settlements in order to bring humanity to the stars.

I believe with my whole heart that God has given me the wisdom and understanding to achieve all the above and more. In other words, all of us Christians have what we need to fulfill all our desires and live our dreams. What we need, all the wisdom and understanding are in the person of the Holy Spirit who is sealed in us. Therefore it makes sense to spend time with God and listen to his counsel.

When I was in my first church, I had often listen to religious sermons that tell me I must spend time with God. It was nothing more than a religious ritual. I have to pray, read the Bible and spend time with God because these are my duties as a Christian. If I fail to do them, God will not be pleased with me. I would not dare to imagine what will happen when God is not pleased with me. There is no limit on how perverted God can be. The “god” of religious church can give people disease to show them his love and sufficient grace. If he can do perverted things to people out of love, what will he do to those he does not like? So spending time with God was a very scary moment.

The other reason I did not like to spend time with God is I believed in the lies of religion that says God is only interested in wanting me to go for mission and give money to the church. These are the two things I hated the most at the time. I was always worried that God might tell me to do the same. My real prayer must be in asking God not to talk to me. I don’t want to go for missions and give money to the church.

Thank God that he has revealed his truth to me. Now, I realize that all the things I heard from that religious church are nothing more than theology, lies from the pit of hell. God is not a pervert. He is a loving person. He will never threaten people to do things they don’t like. He cares for you and me more than missions. He wants us to be rich, not the religious pastors. If the religious pastors cannot collect enough money for their own salaries, they can go out to get real jobs. They have no right to threaten us with God’s name. God is on our side, not theirs.

After I knew the truth, I began to enjoy spending time with God. God is not just a pleasant and kind person. He has practical answers to all our problems. He has all the wisdom and understanding that we need to fulfill our dreams. Not only that, he has given them all to us in the person of the Holy Spirit.

What is our role in this? We are to use them. All the wisdom and understanding that God has given to us are meant to be used. The Holy Spirit is not meant to be our hostage. He is also our counsel. He has the answers to all our problems and on how to fulfill our dreams. Seek him and ask him questions. What do you want now? Ask him how to get it. Do you want better health? Ask him how to get it. Do you want to have more money? Ask him. Do you want to look for a perfect mate in life? Ask him.

God is neither a theologian nor a religious pastor. He will never condemn you for asking him. He will never give you more sickness when you ask for better health. He will never make you poorer when you ask him for more wealth. So, go ahead and ask what you want. There is no limit on what you can ask.

Next, how do we communicate with God to access to all the wisdom and understanding he has given to us? Since the Holy Spirit is sealed inside us, verbal communication is not a necessity. Please don’t get me wrong. There is nothing wrong with talking directly to God. It is just not necessary. We can communicate through our thoughts. We can send and receive messages in our thoughts. In order to achieve the best communication system with God, our thoughts must be kept pure and undefiled.

This leads us to positive thinking. We are to keep our thoughts positive. Fill your minds with good thoughts. Good thoughts are thoughts of prosperity, health and success. Bad thoughts are just the opposite. Read the Bible and other positive books. You can start reading the articles in this blog. All my articles were written to encourage positive thinking.

In conclusion, as Christians we have all the wisdom and understanding to live successful and prosperous godly lives. God had given us everything we need for our prosperity and success. All we need to do is to receive them and we do it by keeping out thoughts pure and undefiled. Think positive at all times.

Direct Your Children Onto The Right Path

6 Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it.
Proverbs 22:6 (NLT)

This time we have come to the subject of children. According to the above verse we are to direct our children onto the right path because we do, they will stay on the same path when they got older. This verse is important for parents like myself. I am a son who will soon turn 4 years old. There is nothing I wish more than for him to prosper and be in health as his soul prospers. Therefore, it is my desire to direct him to the path, which will lead him to total life prosperity. I believe all the sane parents have the same desire for their children.

The question here is how are we going to do it? How are we supposed to direct our children to the right path? Then we will have to ask what is the right path? Let us begin with the first question.

The answer to the first question is very simple. Lead by example. What type of attitude, behavior, habit or mindset you want your children to have? You show them by practising them in your life for them to see. Whatever you don’t want your children to do, don’t do it yourself. If you don’t want your children to speak vulgar words, make sure you don’t speak them. If you don’t want your children to give up every time they face some difficulties in life, make sure you yourself don’t give up easily too.

On the other hand, whatever you want your children to do, you do it yourself. Do you want your children to love reading and studying? Make sure you are doing the same thing. Don’t give excuses like you are an adult and adults don’t have to study anymore or you are too busy to study. None of us is too old to learn new things. We must not stop learning for the sake of ourselves and for our children.

If you want your children to pray, make sure you pray yourself. Don’t ever threaten them to pray like telling them that God will be angry and do bad things to people who do not pray. If you make God look like a monster, do not be surprise that you children will end up staying away from God when they grow up. After all, who likes to spend time with a monster?

We must not make the path to look, sound or feel like a torture. Make it fun. My son aspires to change light bulbs because he saw me doing it. By the way, I have never changed light bulbs before I got married. Now that I am married and have my own house I realize that somebody has to change the light bulbs. As the man in the house I have to do it. So, I change light bulbs when they are burnt. It is just a routine for me.

However, from my son’s perspective the process of light bulb changing is very fascinating. He was so impressed that he told me he wants to change light bulbs when he grows up. When we were outside and came across a defective lamp, my son said he is going to fix that. Somehow I don’t think I will have trouble in asking him to change light bulbs in the future.

I am telling you all these to show you that you don’t have to force things on your children even if these are good things. It is easier and more effective to allow them to do those good things because they love to and not because they have to. Tap on their fascination and their sense of fun. You can achieve greater things thins way.

Next, what is the path? The answer is whatever you want. What type of future do you want your children to have? That is the path you should direct them to. God has given us our minds and common sense to be used. It is not necessary to search the Bible on whether it is right for us to want to be healthy, live long lives, have successful career, make a lot of money and have a lot of fun. God did not give us the Bible to tell us all these. He gave us the Bible to help us to live good lives. The Bible is our servant and not our master. Decide what type of life that you want for yourself and your family. Use the Bible to achieve it.

Teach your children to the same. Do it with clear instruction and be an example yourself. Then you will have established a blessed generation after you.

Are You Plowing In The Right Season?

4 Those too lazy to plow in the right season will have no food at the harvest.
Proverbs 20:4 (NLT)

The above verse tells us that if we are too lazy to plow in the right season, we will not get any harvest. It was written based on the context of farming. Farmers have specific time for every process of their work. They must plow, sow and reap at specific time to get their harvest due to the periodical change in the whether patterns. Should they missed any of those steps, they will not get their harvest and their families will starve. If this is the time to plow, plow now. Do not wait for next week. The season will not wait.

This is a great lesson for us who want to be rich. Why do you think God put this verse in the Bible? Obviously he wants us to have food at the harvest. God wants us to be rich. He does not want us to settle for having just enough to eat. He wants us to have more than enough. He wants us to be exceedingly and abundantly rich.

When I was in my medical leave last week, I watched a DVD entitled “Guns, Germs And Steel”. It was about the quest of a biologist Jared Diamond in investigating the reason why some nations are more advanced than others. He concluded that the discovery of agriculture marks the beginning of human advancement. Farming gives people a stable source of food supply. However, farming alone does not guarantee advancement of civilization. Farm productivity must be high.

When the productivity is low, there can only be one occupation in the village. Everyone in the village must become farmer to produce enough food for their own families to survive. No one can afford to be scientist, engineers or artist because they are busy farming. Thus, they will not be able to discover metallurgy, invent new machines, develop mathematics, literature, science and other necessities for civilizations to advance. The society with low farm productivity will remain stagnant forever.

In contrast, when the farm productivity is high then the society does not need everyone in it to be farmers. There will be a surplus of food to feed even those who do not engage directly in farming. This enables people to engage in other specialization like discovering metallurgy, inventing new machines, developing mathematics, literature, science and other hallmarks for civilizations to progress.

This is truly a revelation to me. Nations like Egypt, Europe and China were able develop great civilizations when the rest of the world were in primitive state because these nations had surplus in their farms to feed engineers, scientists, artists, craftsmen and every other specialists they needed.

This is an illustration on why we need a surplus in our harvest. We need to have more than enough in order to progress to the next level. A Christian life is a life of continuous advancement. In order to advance we need surplus in our prosperity. We must never settle just enough. That is stagnation. Nations that are only producing just enough will remain in primitive state while those that had surplus in their harvest will advance in their level of civilization. We Christians are to be like those nations that have huge surplus in their harvest.

Now that we have resolve the need for huge harvest let us move to the concept of plowing at the right season. Plowing means working. When a farmer is plowing, his farm must look empty. Plowing time is the time where we cannot see the harvest. It can be a very dull job, having working so hard but you cannot see the money. So, it should not surprise us when people can get lazy and refuse to plow. It is much easier to reap than to plow because we can see the harvest when we reap.

So, why not skip the plowing and wait for the reaping? The problem is, if you don’t plow you will not reap. Plowing is a necessary step for us to reap our prosperity. What is plowing in today’s context? It refers to works that needs to be done but we cannot see the direct benefits when we do them.

It is easy to work in a job when we see money coming in every day. Jobs like this does not require much faith or motivation. I call these easy jobs. If you happen to be in one of them, I congratulate you. It is the jobs that do not give us the direct benefits that we want that is challenge. Let me give you an example.

You could be victim of the recent economic crisis. You were laid off. Before this, you had a high paying job in a huge company. Your life was very comfortable. The recent events caused your life to turn upside down. You lost you job and you fail to find similar high paying job in the market. In order to survive, you have taken up the job of washing dishes in a restaurant. How will you face this situation? How motivated are you? You are still paid but the amount is extremely small compared to the salary you used to receive.

In situations like this, most people get demoralized and give up hope. If you choose to follow them, I can tell you for sure that you will remain where you are for a very long time. You need to know the truth and the truth is you are now in a plowing season. This is the season where you have to work very hard and you cannot see the benefits that you want. As you do your current job well, you will move on to the next season very soon. You will get to the time where you will reap a huge harvest. How big is your harvest going to be? It depends on how well you perform you current plowing job. The better you plow the greater your harvest. God has promised to deliver you and give you prosperity. What you are experiencing now is the plowing season.

So, God has decreed that your future is in your hands. What we do and think about will determine the type of future we have. If we choose to plow well now, we will have a great harvest. We will be rich and advance to the next level. However, if we are to get too lazy to plow now, we will not have any harvest when the time comes.

What is your choice? Will you choose to plow now?

Health Report

I have been certified healed last Saturday as I have believed the moment I was told I had it last Monday. I am really glad that the Word of God has changed me to be the person I am now. I did not ask for this disease but since it happened, I have decided to use it to test my faith. The result is, my faith works. If fact, the doctor told me that I have the best case of Shingles she had seen so far. I only have some isolated red spots on my body instead of the conventional case where there are supposed to be huge concentrations of infections. So, I did not really look that bad.

I have also checked on Shingles in the Wikipedia and found that I missed some of the symptoms. I don’t remember experiencing headache nor fever throughout the ordeal. Maybe I was too busy having fun.

It is one thing in talking about using faith and another in actually using it. This experience has given me the chance to use my faith in the area of health. The success in the area has prompted me to explore further in the area of developing health. The following are what I have learned so far.

All of us were made to be healthy. God has given us bodies with the capability to fight every sickness and disease. In other words, we have everything we need to live healthy lives. Our health is so important to God that he had even included it at the Cross of Calvary. At the Cross, Jesus took all our sickness and disease. By his stripes we are healed. It is the will of God for all of us to be healthy, even those who are currently sick now.

We need to believe. When we believe that God wants us to be healthy, we are thinking positive thoughts and creating our inner realities of good health. Our bodies respond to our thoughts. When we think good thoughts, our bodies will do their jobs at their best in repairing damaged systems and replacing bad cells. In contrast, when we think bad or negative thoughts, we will hamper the operations of our bodies. We will be vulnerable to sickness and disease.

In case someone may ask me whether I had bad thoughts before I got Shingles, my answer is I don’t remember having any. However, I am taking full responsibility for the disease. It must be a result of some weaknesses in my beliefs or lifestyles. I will never resort to the carnal way of attributing it to God. Based on my relationship with God, I am convinced that he is not a pervert. My God will never give people disease to show them his sufficient grace. He is a healer, not a disease giver. The idea of God giving disease to show us his sufficient grace is nothing more than a perversion of theology. My God is not a pervert as the theologians have been propagated.

The next question is, what does taking full responsibility means? In my case, I need to focus more on health. I have been using my faith but mostly in the area of financial prosperity. This is a wake up call for me to spend some time on health as well. There are still a lot of sickness that money cannot heal. Let me tell you what I have done.

After reading “The Science of Getting Rich” by Wallace Wattles, I am reading “The Science of Being Well” by the same author. It is a good book and I am planning to get a link to the free version on this blog. I am going to implement the ideas in the book starting from the diet plan.

 I will eat only when I am hungry and stop after the hunger has abated.

 I will make a distinction between hunger and appetite. Hunger is a sign from the body telling us that we need nourishment while appetite is just a lust for food. I will respond to hunger and not appetite.

 No more breakfast. According to the book, one can never be hungry in the morning. It is appetite, not hunger that we feel in the morning. I will eat only from noon onwards.

 When I eat, I will chew the food until it become liquid before swallowing and I will enjoy the process of it. Eating is supposed to be enjoyable. However, it does not mean that eating more means more joy. I will let my body to tell me when I have enough.

Other that the above, there is no restriction to the type of food I can eat. (I love this part).

The Danger Of Negative Thoughts And Feelings

23 So Michal, the daughter of Saul, remained childless throughout her entire life.
2 Samuel 6:23 (NLT)

I am back. Let me give you some update of myself. In her attempt to get me healed faster, my wife asked around for sinsehs who are able to cure Shingles. Sinsehs are the practitioners of traditional chinese medicine or TCM as we call it in Singapore. So, my wife asked the aunties (old women) in her office for information on a good sinseh and got one for me.

So, I went to one yesterday. To make the story short, here is the advice I got:

The only things I can eat are:
1. Bread with jam.
2. White rice or porridge with boiled vegetables.

In addition, the affected parts cannot touch water. So, I am not supposed to bathe until I am fully healed.

Do you think I will obey that? I told my wife that I will get healed but it is not because of this sinseh. I will be healed because of God and science. The conclusion of this experience is, when you are sick, visit a real doctor.

Enough about myself, let us continue with the story in 2 Samuel. After David got back the Ark, he organized a procession to bring it back to his palace.

12 Then King David was told, “The Lord has blessed Obed-edom’s household and everything he has because of the Ark of God.” So David went there and brought the Ark of God from the house of Obed-edom to the City of David with a great celebration.
13 After the men who were carrying the Ark of the Lord had gone six steps, David sacrificed a bull and a fattened calf.
14 And David danced before the Lord with all his might, wearing a priestly garment.
15 So David and all the people of Israel brought up the Ark of the Lord with shouts of joy and the blowing of rams’ horns.
2 Samuel 6:12-15 (NLT)

It was basically a party. It was a celebration and the people were having fun. Everyone was having a good time except for one, Michal who was David’s first wife.

16 But as the Ark of the Lord entered the City of David, Michal, the daughter of Saul, looked down from her window. When she saw King David leaping and dancing before the Lord, she was filled with contempt for him.
2 Samuel 6:16 (NLT)

The above verse says Michal was filled with contempt for David. It sounds very intense. She confronted David on his behavior. David in turn downplayed the event and said he would do it again if he wants to.

20 When David returned home to bless his own family, Michal, the daughter of Saul, came out to meet him. She said in disgust, “How distinguished the king of Israel looked today, shamelessly exposing himself to the servant girls like any vulgar person might do!”
21 David retorted to Michal, “I was dancing before the Lord, who chose me above your father and all his family! He appointed me as the leader of Israel, the people of the Lord, so I celebrate before the Lord.
22 Yes, and I am willing to look even more foolish than this, even to be humiliated in my own eyes! But those servant girls you mentioned will indeed think I am distinguished!”
2 Samuel 6:20-21 (NLT)

The chapter ends with something that happened to Michal on that day onwards.
23 So Michal, the daughter of Saul, remained childless throughout her entire life.
2 Samuel 6:23 (NLT)

Let us try to understand what exactly had happened and then learn something from it. It is not difficult to understand why there was a party. David had a close relationship with God. They were good friends. Bring back the Ark was a joyful occasion. So, David organized a party and everyone was having fun.

However, Michal was not happy with what she saw. Why not? In today’s description, Michal was a member of a non-charismatic church. The church she attended told her that charismatic churches are heretics. True Christians must not get involved in form of charismatic behavior especially if you are a king. So, when she saw her husband, the king behaving like a charismatic, she was very angry. It was not just an ordinary anger. The Bible tells us that she was filled with contempt. Her feelings must be very intense.

She had even confronted David and confronted him for behaving like a charismatic but she did not get the response she wanted. David still insisted in attending the charismatic church.

Somehow, she became barren and unable to have any child.

Let us look at why is this important. In those days, having children was very important for married women especially for the wives of a king. If you happen to be one of them, your luxurious lifestyle is basically guaranteed as long as the king you are married to is alive. What will happen after he dies? It depends on how are you related to the new king. If the new king happens to be the son of another wife of this present king, you may not have a very secure future in the palace. So, the best survival guide for a king’s wife is to bear him a son who will become his heir. Michal’s condition means she had no future in the palace. It was bad for her.

Why did she become this way? The only reason we can find is her intense negative feelings. She did not just dislike what she saw. She was filled with contempt. Being filled with contempt means her thoughts and feelings must be very negative. Her body was adversely affected by it. The result was, Michal could not give birth to any child.

In case anyone is wondering whether God was involved in this, let me make this clear. God will never give lung cancer to smokers. God will never give Aids to those who practice unprotected casual sex. God will never kill anyone who jumps from a tall building. God created the laws of nature to govern this universe for our prosperity. As long as we live in harmony with these laws, we will have good lives on earth. However, if we choose to abuse these laws, we will face the consequences. If you don’t believe this, try to smoke, practice unprotected casual sex or jump from tall building. You will know the results very soon.

This is the cause of Michal’s problems. She allowed her mind to be filled with contempt and she had to bear the consequences. The lesson for us here is, always guard our hearts and minds against contempt (negative thoughts and feelings).

Let me get this clear. We are living in the real world. In the real world nothing is perfect. Whatever ideal situation you can conceive in your mind, you will not see it in the real world. The question is, how will you respond? Do you intend to think negative each time something goes wrong in your life? If you do, your life is going to be very miserable. Not only that, you will create more negative events in your life.

When we think about something regardless of whether it is positive or negative, we are creating feelings. Our bodies respond to our feelings. When we feel good, we are sending instructions to our bodies to work at their best efficiency. We are effective telling our bodies to heal every wound, replace every damaged cells and work at their best. No wonder the Bible tells us that a cheerful heart is good medicine.

So, if you are sick right now, your only responsibility is to be happy. Do everything you can to be happy. I don’t care how bad or terminal your sickness is, the moment you flood your mind with good feelings, you disease will have no chance to stay in your body.

In contrast, if you choose to be negative, Michal will be your example.

In conclusion, be on guard. Guard your hearts and minds against negative thoughts and feelings. Be happy and joyful at all times. Your health, wealth and other well beings depend on it.

Overcoming Sickness

15 And the Lord will protect you from all sickness. He will not let you suffer from the terrible diseases you knew in Egypt, but he will inflict them on all your enemies!
Deuteronomy 15:15 (NLT)

This is the second day I am in my one week of medical leave. The doctor told me I have Shringles, which is caused by the remnants of chicken pox virus. I have some red spots on my body and experienced periodical intense pain on those areas. It is also supposed to be infectious, thus the one week of medical leave.

How am I supposed to respond to this situation? Let me start by telling you what I have forgotten. I have forgotten how to behave like a helpless victim. I have forgotten how to feel sorry for myself. I have forgotten how to suffer correctly. The pain may be very intense but I still don’t feel like a victim. Do you know why?

I have changed. The Word of God has changed me into a new person. Right now, I see the whole situation as I am facing a setback in my life and setbacks are to be overcome. I intend to overcome this sickness and be in a better situation than the day before I have it. I am on medication. The pills that were prescribed by the doctor are more expensive than the conventional drugs. I am sure the pills will do their job but I am not going to rely on them alone no matter how expensive they are. I am using my faith.

Each day, I am committed to keep my heart in joy and gratefulness. I believe that God is always on my side fighting this disease. The above verse tells me that God will protect me from all sickness. The sickness that is in me now is nothing more than one of the “all sickness” in the above verse. Therefore, I am destined to win. God will make sure that I will overcome this disease in Jesus’s name. I will intensify my faith every time the pain manifests. I will win.

The question many may ask is, why does this disease manifest in the first place? A theologian would have said that it is the will of his god to give people disease to teach them some lessons. You know what? He is right. The theologian is right because the god of the theologian is The Theologian whose destiny is the pit of hell. Our God had banished The Theologian from heaven to hell. Therefore I agree with the theologian that his god (otherwise known as Satan or The Theologian) is the one responsible for my disease.

The second question is why would The Theologian want to put sickness in me? I can think of several reasons. They are:
1. He wants to destroy my faith.
2. He wants to remove my joy.
3. He wants to block my prosperity.
4. He wants to stop me from becoming the testimony of God’s goodness.

These must be the reasons the god of theology wants me to learn and I have learned well. These are the things I am doing now:

1. I will develop my faith to the next level. Each time I feel the pain, I will remind me of God faithfulness in keeping his promises. If you read the whole passage Deuteronomy 15:12-15, you will find that God’s promise of health also comes with wealth. Our God does not believe in partial prosperity. His prosperity is complete. It covers every area of our lives. This means I will not only end up in good health, I will also be richer in other areas in my life as well, including financially.

2. I am not going to let this pain deny me of my joy. I am doing what I like now. I have been blogging, trading, playing chess, watching Star Trek and surfing the internet. I plan to read science fiction later. Wow, are you envious of my good life? Do you think I am behaving like a sick guy?

3. I started the real trade yesterday and made my first profit. The profit I made is many times more than my medical bill. In addition I am still receiving my salary during this week. I am not getting poorer. I am getting richer. I will be richer in this week than the week before. I intend to be richer and richer as the weeks pass.

4. Finally, I am not ashamed of my situation. I did not ask for it but since it happens I am not going to hide it either. I will use this situation as another opportunity to use my faith to overcome the setbacks in my life and I hope that as you read about my experience, you will be inspired to overcome your own setbacks as well.

In conclusion, God is not responsible for our setbacks. He is always on our side. He will help us to overcome them and turn them to our advantage. What the Theologian meant for evil, our God can turn it for good. All we need to do is to believe. Do you believe in the goodness of God?

Your Gates Will Stay Open Around The Clock To Receive The Wealth Of Many Lands.

11 Your gates will stay open around the clock to receive the wealth of many lands. The kings of the world will be led as captives in a victory procession.
Isaiah 60:11 (NLT)

I am putting my study of 2 Samuel on hold in order to focus deeper on God’s calling for me to get rich in Year 2009. You can expect to read many more articles from me on getting rich. There is no better time than now to get rich because in this year we are supposed to be in the worst global recession that has ever happened. There are 2 major reasons why.

First, when we get rich in a time where people are supposed to be poorer, we will get notice. People will start to wonder how do we get rich in a recession and they will want to know what do we have in common. They will find out that all of us serve a true and loving God who produces real results. All religions have their own gods and they attributed all types of characteristics to their gods but ours is the only one who can produce real results. Our God is not like other gods who can only promise things that cannot be proven. Our God dares to make real promises like physical health and wealth, which can be subjected to scrutiny. In other words, our God dares to stick his neck out.

So, when we get rich we are not only bringing glory to our God, we are drawing souls to him. When there are sufficient numbers of Christians getting rich, the Gospel is proclaimed so loud and clear throughout the world. This is something where no evangelists or missionaries can ever achieve. Get rich for the sake of lost souls.

Secondly, this is the time where many rich become poor and the poor become even poorer. They need help. Who else but us can help them? We need to get richer in order to help more people and show them the love of our God.

How do we get rich? I would like to suggest reading Isaiah 60. The whole chapter contains the impression of prosperity. It is a prophecy that was released when Israel was in a bad shape. Yet, that did not stop God from giving them a very positive picture of their future. Why would God want to do that? The answer is he wants us to fill our minds with positive thoughts. In other words, he wants us to have faith.

I like the above verse. It says our gates will stay open around the clock to receive the wealth of many lands. The kings of the world will be led as captives in a victory procession. This tells us that we should not just settle for the minimal for ourselves. The desire to have just enough money to live comfortably is selfish. God does not want us to have enough money just for ourselves. He wants us to be overflow with riches that we will have the capacity to be a blessing to others. He wants us to think big. He wants our gates to stay open around the clock to receive the wealth of many lands. He wants us to have exceedingly and abundantly. Our gates will not be able to close because there are too many deliveries of wealth into our house. Our mailboxes will always be jammed with envelopes containing checks for us. We will be very rich.

Will you obey him? If you do, you should start believing in the arrival of wealth into your life. You can read in many places of the Bible that God had always informed his people of the arrival of his blessings before the blessings physically took place. Why is that so? It seems like God wants us to use our faith to receive them. You need to know that God is not a tyrant. He will not force things on us, even good things like blessings. He wants us to have a choice on whether we want to receive his blessings and we give our approval through our faith. When we use our faith to receive our blessings, we are like putting a tick on the box that says “I agree to receive the blessings” on God’s blessing form. We will get those blessings.

Being in faith means allowing the words of God to occupy our minds as often as we can. The above verse is a good verse to start. Start believing that a lot of money is on its way to your bank account. A lot of checks are on their way to your mailbox. You only have to focus on the end result, which is a lot of money in your bank account. You do not need to worry about how God is going to fulfill his promise. God knows how to do his job.

This is true even if you are physically poor right now. You may be jobless, burdened with a mountain of debt or any other bad things you can think of. God is more than capable to make you rich despite all those obstacles. He had done that many times before in the Bible and he can do it again. The question here is, are you willing to put your trust in him? Are you willing to believe that your gates will stay open around the clock to receive the wealth of many lands?

Are you willing to believe that God will fulfill his promise to make you very rich even if the present physical situation around you tells you the opposite? If you do, you are living by faith.

Happy New Year

We have come to Year 2009. Looking back, the past 2 years had been a great blessing to me. Prior to Year 2007, I was in a bad financial shape. Everything that can go wrong, went wrong for me. I tried to find solutions to my problem but failed. There was no light at the end of the tunnel. There was no way out.

It was at that time that I discovered Jerry Savelle Ministries. It gave me hope when hope was gone. I became a partner to this ministry. Nothing physical had changed but I held on the hope that God was working behind the scenes to deliver me.

By mid 2007, I had a change in my job with a salary increase of 40%. It was the first breakthrough I had. By the end of the year, I started this blog. By the mid of Year 2008, I had another change of job with a salary increase of 70%. Things had improved by leaps and bounds.

Looking forward, I expect the following to manifest in this year:

1. My monthly income to be doubled by the end of March. Thereafter my monthly income will keep doubling in every six months. By the end on 2010, I expect to have S$1 million in net worth excluding house value.

2. Start attending church. It is most probable that we will not go back to New Creation Church. Both my wife and I prefer a smaller and simpler church. As far as I am concern, the church I want to attend must subscribe to the Word of Faith movement as I have no interest in listening to messages that tells me God wants me to be poor and sick. I have found one in which the pastor was trained by Kenneth Hagin’s Rhema Bible School. Maybe I will go for this one.

3. Take my family for a 5 star hotel stay in every weekend by fourth quarter of this year. My son loves to stay in hotels. He loves to play with the fridge and safe. He loves to use the safe as if it is an oven. He will put some biscuits in a saucer, put the saucer into the safe, close the door, open it and serve it to me as though he has baked it. It was a fun time for him.

4. Go for a tour to Penang by the end of the year. We will travel and stay in the best money can buy. It is time to pay my parents a visit.

On the spiritual side, I will achieve the following:

1. I will keep my thoughts pure. I will not entertain any negative thoughts like anger, bitterness, anxiousness worry and everything that comes from the mentality of poverty. My mind will be always filled positive thoughts. Joy and gratefulness will be constantly in my thoughts no matter what happens in the physical world. My mentality is the mentality of abundance.

2. My faith will grow to be stronger and stronger. The most effective indication to the growth is the physical net-worth I have. Physical assets cannot be faked and is therefore the best indication of one’s spiritual growth.

3. This blog shall be the source of hope for Christians worldwide. Miracles will happen to every believer who read this blog and do everything that is prescribed in it. The poor will become rich. This sick will become whole. Many people will be cured of their incurable diseases. Those who faced with huge problems will find the solutions for them. Everyone who reads and put into practice the lessons in this blog will find themselves blessed exceedingly and abundantly above all they dare to ask or hope for.

These are my objectives for this year. Year 2009 is going to be great.
