Honor The Son

22 In addition, the Father judges no one. Instead, he has given the Son absolute authority to judge,
23 so that everyone will honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. Anyone who does not honor the Son is certainly not honoring the Father who sent him.
John 5:22-23 (NLT)

We shall study Jesus’ words in the above verses. You may have realized that I did not post anything yesterday. The reason is because I am getting very busy lately. I need to get the test pile ready by the end of this week. So everything is in a rush and I will be calling the piling contractor every day. Even this article is written in a rush and I hope you can understand.

Let us begin. In the above verses, Jesus stressed on the importance in honoring him. We are to honor the Son because as we do, we are honoring the Father. I am sure every Christian will have no problem in this. The only problem lies in defining the meaning of honoring God. I shall provide the meanings below:

Honoring Jesus means value what he values.
If you study the life of Jesus, he was not obsessed by rituals and doctrines. His priority was the people. He wanted the sick to be healed and the hungry to be fed. He was more interested in meeting the needs of the people instead of arguing with the theologians on whose doctrines are more right. Jesus had even provided wine for a wedding party when they ran out of it. No needs are too small, big or insignificant to him. He will meet them all.

We should live our lives in a similar manner. Our priority should be on the welfare of the people around us. It should not matter what their doctrines or religions are. What really matter is, Jesus loves them very much. When we extend a helping hand to help those who are suffering regardless of their beliefs, we are honoring Jesus. When we honor him, there is no limit on how much prosperity we can receive.

Honoring Jesus means believing what he says is true even if the situation says the opposite.
Another word for this is faith. It is easy to believe that God wants us rich and healthy when we are physically rich and healthy. What happen if our health and wealth are threatened? Do we still believe? This is a test of faith.

When we honor Jesus, we are telling him that we believe what he said is true even if we cannot see the manifestation of them in the natural. When we are poor, we believe we are rich because Jesus died poor for us to live rich. Therefore we will continue to use our faith to get rid of our lack and attain our prosperity. When we are sick, we believe we are healthy because Jesus took all our diseases at the Cross. We are determined to fight a fight of faith in order to get well. In doing so, we are honoring Jesus and bring glory to his name.

We will be showing the world that our God is a God of love. He cares for us more than we care for ourselves. He loves us more than he loves doctrines. We are presenting our God better than those who are only interested in fighting over doctrines.

That is all for now. Got to go to the site to get the new positions for test piles.

Hi Chee Seng, my wife and I have been most encouraged with your writings and understanding of the Word. In fact, your understanding is very much aligned to what we believe – the finished work of Christ.

You can see my email. Can you please email me separately? We will like to get to know you more.

    Cheers,
