We Are Gods II

11 He came to his own people, and even they rejected him.
12 But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.
13 They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.
John 1:11-13(NLT)

In the above passage, anyone who believed and accepted Jesus will be given the right to become the children of God. Being the children of God means we are born of God. According to God’s way of reproduction, the children always belong to the same species as the parents. Since we are the children of God, we must belong to the same species as God. This makes us gods. If you are a Christian, you are a god.

I have written on this topic before. In this article, I will expand on the meaning of being gods. What does it mean to you, after you realize that you are god? Your species is god. Answer: You need to learn how to benefit from it. In order for us to benefit from our new identity and species, we need to learn the nature of our species. Why? Let me give you an example.

Birds can fly. However, they did not know how to fly when they were first born. Baby birds need to rely their mothers to teach them how to be birds. They need to eat the food their mothers gave them and obey when they were taught to fly. If they don’t, they will never be able to fly like other birds. They would have forfeited their rights to fly to the sky. When that happens, it is not God’s fault. God has given them everything they need to fly. However, if they refuse to learn and practice, they will never be able to fly.

Likewise, for us Christians. We are gods. God has given us everything we need for our new identity. As gods, we have the unlimited powers not only to have abundant prosperity, divine health and great success in our lives but also the ability to bless the people around us with abundant prosperity, divine health and great success. In other words, each of us gods has the ability to end world hunger, provide aids to all the victims of disasters, bring the Gospel to every human being, cure every disease, raise every death and every other blessing we can think of. We need to activate our powers. We need to learn how to use them to achieve results.

Just as the birds were designed to fly, we gods are designed to create miracles and answer prayers of others. We have what it takes to excel in every area we choose. The only missing link here is our willingness to learn and obey the only one who knows how to use our powers. This person is God. In other words, we need to have discipline. We need to set aside time to study the Bible, pray and listen to faith messages. In doing so, we are learning from our father on how to use our powers that is already in us when we first became gods.

This means that, unlike the religious people, we don’t read the Bible because we are forced to. We read and study the Bible because we want to claim our own inheritance. Physically we may be humans but spiritually we are gods. We are entitled to all the rights and privileges that comes with our new species. How are we going to do that if we don’t know what they are and how to claim them. So, the bottom line is, read the Bible.

When we read the Bible, we are effectively reading our bills of rights as gods. We will learn of our rights and privileges. We will learn the right way to activate them. Health, long life, riches, success, wisdom and joy are ours for the taking if we know how to take them.

In conclusion, read the Bible to know and activate your rights.
