1 Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.
Hebrews 11:1 (NLT)
The above verse is the best definition I can find about faith. If you have a better one, please let me know. According to Hebrews 11:1 having faith means living a life with confidence that what we hope for will actually happen. It gives us the assurance we need about the things we cannot see, which I am sure is referring to good things. Isn’t this a great way to live?
A man may be physically poor and sick. However, instead of focusing on the negative circumstances around him, he chooses to believe that God is faithful in giving him the prosperity and health as stated in the Bible. So, he lives each day praising God with joy and with confident expectation on receiving his health and prosperity. He may not be physically rich and healthy at this moment, but it will not take long if he continues to hold on to his faith.
In contrast, there could be someone else who is rich and healthy right now. However he does not have the assurance of God’s faithfulness in his heart. He has no faith. He allowed himself to get worried every time he came across bad news in the TV or newspapers. He will get so fearful of his health that he is afraid to go out too often to avoid being infected by any disease. He will get so worried of losing his wealth that he kept all of his money at home and not spending it.
Which of these 2 men would you like to be? Without faith, all the external stuff won’t last. Prosperity without faith has no foundation. All it takes is an economic downturn or some changes in government policies and all you wealth could be gone.
However, if you are in faith, even though you have nothing right now, you will have everything you ever wished for and more because through faith you can have access to God’s power to bring prosperity into your life. Not only that, the prosperity from God is eternal.
22 A good man leaves an inheritance for his children’s children, but a sinner’s wealth is stored up for the righteous.
Your world may be falling apart right now. You may have lost all your money. You may have lost your health. Your family may be breaking up. You may have deserted by all your friends. You may find yourself losing in every area in your life. If you are in any of the above situations or worse, there is only one thing you should remember and do. Do not let go of your faith.
Faith is the only thing that matters because only through faith, will you be able to get back everything you have lost plus more. No matter how impossible your situation looks like, no matter how high the mountain is before you, you can throw it into the sea if you are in faith.
22 Then Jesus said to the disciples, “Have faith in God.
23 I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart.
24 I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours.
Why do you think the devil is working so hard to create problems for you? Do you really think the devil is jealous of you money? No. Your money does not scare him. Your faith does. Though faith you are able to crush the devil and take back all the things he stole from you and demand seven fold compensation. The devil is so afraid of your faith that he is willing to do anything to block it.
When you are in a trial, the worse thing you can do is to allow the devil’s plan to succeed. The best response is to make his greatest nightmare to come true. Strengthen your faith. You must determine in your heart to keep believing in the faithfulness of God even if you cannot see them in the natural. After all, faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.
In doing so, you are turning the tables around. The devil’s plan will backfire. Not only must he retreat, he must repay you everything he has stolen from you plus compensation. You have triumph over evil though faith.
The next question is, how to have faith?
17So faith comes by hearing [what is told], and what is heard comes by the preaching [of the message that came from the lips] of Christ (the Messiah Himself).
Romans 10:17 (Amplified Bible)
Faith comes from hearing from the preaching of the message of Christ. Please not that not all preaching gives you faith. Religious preaching doesn’t. I was in a religious church for close to 10 years and all I knew was being in bondage. Only the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ gives you faith.
Learn to get to know the messages of Kenneth Copeland, Jerry Savelle, Ceflo Dollar, Jesse Duplantis and other faith preachers because they dare to preach faith despite the persecutions they received from the religious groups. You can start to explore the articles in this blog. I planned for this blog to be a source for faith.
In conclusion, without faith nothing is going to matter but with faith you are in position to have everything you desire.
