10 Give generously to him and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the LORD your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to.
11 There will always be poor people in the land. Therefore I command you to be openhanded toward your brothers and toward the poor and needy in your land.
In the minds of the world as well as the carnal christians in the anti-faith groups, giving is a sacrifice. To them, giving makes them poorer. Every dollar you give makes you a dollar poorer. This is why the idea of giving was incorporated into their poverty-glorifying religion.
However, God has an exactly opposite view. In the mind of God, giving makes us rich. The above verse tells us God wants us to give generously and without a grudging heart because when we do so, he will bless all our works. What do you think will happen when God blesses your works? You will be successful. You will be rich. So, if you are really interested and committed to be rich, start doing what God wants you to do.
In the above verse, God wants you to start giving. Give generously and without a grudging heart.
Verse 6 speaks of helping the poor. This is one of the reasons why God wants to make us extremely rich. The poor cannot help the poor. Only the rich can. There are many organisations out there focusing on fighting poverty. Even the anti-prosperity, religious and anti-faith churches joined in. (Talk about hypocrisy.)
However most of them got their priorities wrong. What they do is ask money from and use it on the external infrastructure. They build schools, provide education, open farms, healthcare and all other external works. Please don’t get me wrong. I am not condemning their works. After all, they have good results.
However, I find them lacking in one most important area: cultivating a prosperity mindset. It is only with a prosperity mindset can one become prosperous. Prosperity is the only solution for poverty. It is only through prosperity that the poor people can be rich and subsequently able to help other poor to do the same.
God’s solution to poverty is prosperity. It is the will of God for every believer to be rich so that we can help the poor by bringing them not only food but the Gospel Of Jesus Christ. It is only through the Gospel Of Jesus Christ that eternal prosperity can be established in our lives. It is only through eternal prosperity that poverty can be wiped out permanently.
The project of supplying and delivering aids and the Gospel to the world needs a lot of money. God will not drop money from the sky. His plan is to make christians so rich that not only are we able to finance his projects but there will be lots of leftovers for us to live the life-styles we want. There is no excuse for christians to be poor anymore.
If you are a christian in a religious church, you have to start asking this question, “Shall I obey God and be rich or shall I continue to allow these religious pastors to bound me in poverty?”
